WASHINGTON, DC (May 17, 2007) – Today Susquehanna Technologies (SusQtech) launched the SharePoint Users Group (SUG) for the Washington, DC Area. Initially, SUG participation is limited to SusQtech customers in the association industry. However, there are plans to expand the group to include staff of any organization interested in learning more about SharePoint.
The initial meeting was held today at the American Gas Association and included participants from 10 different organizations. The discussion topic was SharePoint Search and was presented by SusQtech’s Sr. SharePoint Architect, John Stover. The group will meet monthly with rotating locations. The next meeting is scheduled for June 20 at the offices of the American College of Cardiology.
While the SUG is sponsored and organized by SusQtech, the eventual goal is to have it become a self-sustaining group which SusQtech participates in but does not run. This will allow for a wider scope of speakers and topics and give members much more ownership in the group’s activities.
The SUG also has a Web site which is located at www.thesug.org. Anyone who is not a current customer but is interested in attending a meeting can contact SusQtech VP of Customer Relations, Jen Miller to find out how to participate.
