SharePoint and SusQtech featured in ASAE’s Social Media Supplement

ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership introduced its first Social Media Supplement, a 20-page magazine focusing on Web 2.0 technology and how associations are using it to foster communities within its membership.  In the open remarks of the supplement, Reggie Henry, CTO for ASAE & The Center referred to the implementation of Microsoft’s SharePoint platform as being among the actions the organization is taking to address the demands of Social Media.  Susquehanna Technologies is the partner working with ASAE & The Center to implement SharePoint 2007, initially to manage the various committees and councils within the organization.

Further in the supplement, writer Stephen Pelletier interviewed SusQtech vice president for clients relations as part of an article on what associations can and should be doing in the Web 2.0 world.  Jen was one of only two experts interviewed for the article who consult with the association industry.  Other interviewees were staff members within associations.  Ms. Miller commented that association Web sites and communities need to focus on being an information resource for their particular and not the primary portal and community site for everyone.

The Social Media Supplement is available to ASAE  & The Center members and is included with the November issue of Associations Now.
