FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SusQtech, the association and non-profit industry’s leading provider of SharePoint solutions and training, announced today the site launch of the Institute of Food Technologists member-only community. The site is built on SusQtech’s Member To Member product (http://www.membertomember.com) boasting an eloquent design with excellent functionality, providing both IFT staff and members with the platform to connect and collaborate on discussions, blogs, and within well-organized focus areas.
This is SusQtech’s second largest client using Member To Member, and the site contains the most custom implementation of any community delivered to date.
In addition to harnessing the SharePoint platform as well as the Member To Member product’s capabilities, the community's unique implementation boasts an advanced User Profile, a robust and fresh Member Directory, and tightly integrated content from the public-facing website as well as backend AMS solution.
“The IFT community launch is particularly exciting because it leverages so many of SharePoint’s syndication capabilities,” said Mike Steadman, President of SusQtech. “IFT made it a point to provide a seamless transition between its core content and community-related content, and as a result, IFT users are completely unaware that multiple technologies, originating from multiple content sources, are being used.”
“The traditional ‘IFT Member Directory’ has been transformed from an online lookup to a robust networking tool where entire profiles are searchable, including areas of interest and expertise, biographies, employment and work history, and other user-maintained information,” said Marc Bernstein, Vice President of Information Technology at IFT.
“The new groups feature allows IFT to offer its members collaboration areas around scientific focus areas that are strategic to the organization as well as meet needs of traditional governance bodies such as committees and task forces. The robust web services provided by Member To Member enable member only discussion snippets from the IFT Community to ‘bubble up’ to our public website, viewable by prospective and active members alike. The folks as SusQtech have been great to work with; responsive, capable, professional, understanding and good natured,” said Bernstein.
“This is our second project with the SusQtech team and it won’t be our last!” he added. Become a member and visit the site at http://community.ift.org.
