SharePoint Training - FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions regarding our SharePoint Training Classes

What time do the classes take place?
Classes start at 9:30am and end by 4pm each day.  We recommend that you arrive about 10-15 minutes before the start in order to get settled.

How important are the prerequisites for each class?
Because each class focuses on a different area within SharePoint, the prerequisites vary.  While there are no hard and fast requirements that these prerequisites be met prior to enrolling, we have found that students get the most out of the course is they meet the recommended prerequisites.  The recommended prerequisites are listed under each
course description.

Are these"Death by PowerPoint" lectures?
No. Our classes are described as "hands-on" and that is exactly what they are.  The courses are a combination of instructor lecture with live demonstrations and hands-on exercises by students in the classroom with the instructor present.  There are very little if any PowerPoint slides.

I am coming from out of town.  Where should I stay?
Multi-day classes held at our facility in Winchester include overnight accomodations.  Unless otherwise stated all other training locations do not include hotel rooms. If you want a list of hotels near the training location just contact us.

Do I need to bring anything with me to class?
The only thing we recommend you bring is something to write with.  Each student is provided with a pre-configured computer workstation and course materials.  Lunch is also provided to maximize your learning time.

What payment methods do you accept?
If you wish to register online we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.  You can also pay by company check or purchase order.

Why do some classes say "SOLD OUT"?
We limit our class size to keep the student to instructor ratio very small.  Rather than expanding the size of popular classes we prefer to add additional dates.

We have several employees who need SharePoint training.  Do you offer on-site training?
Yes.  Private, on-site SharePoint training is a large part of our business and one of the reasons that public classes are available every week.  In addition, we also have hybrid classes where a company with several students actually hosts the class and allows SusQtech to sell excess space to the public. If you are interested in either of these options
contact us.

Will I be able to ask about specific challenges associated with my own SharePoint installation?
Because these are publicly available classes the background and experiences of the students will vary.  In order to keep the information covered applicable to the class at large, instructors will limit group discussions to topics with a broad appeal.

How do I get to the classroom?
Approximately 2-3 days prior to the first day of class, SusQtech will send out a reminder with specific directions or a link to a mapping service.  Unfortunately we are unable to provide any transportation to training facilities.
