 Training FAQs

What time do the classes take place?
Full day training classes typically start at 9:30 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. each day.  We recommend that you arrive about 10-15 minutes before class starts so everyone is settled and class can begin on time.

How important are the prerequisites for each class?
Since each class focuses on a different SharePoint topic, the prerequisites vary.  While there are no hard and fast requirements that these prerequisites be met prior to enrolling, we have found that students get the most out of the course if they meet the recommended prerequisites.  The recommended prerequisites are listed under each course description.

Are these "Death by PowerPoint" lectures?
No. Our classes are "hands-on." The courses are a combination of instructor lecture, live demonstrations and hands-on student exercises. There are very little if any PowerPoint slides.

I am coming from out of town.  Where should I stay?
Most multi-day classes are held in Dulles, Virginia to accommodate Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland students, however, if you require overnight accommodations the Holiday Inn Dulles has a special SusQtech rate (click here for reservations) For a list of hotels near the other training locations please contact us.

Do I need to bring anything with me to class?
Students must bring their own laptop to class.  Requirements for the laptop are: FireFox 3.x or later, Internet Explorer 7.x or later, Safari 5 or later or Chrome 4.x or later.  The lab environments will run via  a hosted SharePoint environment which will require an add on installation from CloudShare.  To ensure your computer is compatible and to pre-install the add-on, please visit http://test.cloudshare.com

Bring a writing utensil and notepad for note taking. Lunch is also provided to maximize your learning time.

What payment methods do you accept?
If you wish to register online we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.  You can also pay by company check or purchase order.

Why do some classes say "SOLD OUT"?
We limit our class size to keep the student to instructor ratio very small.  Rather than expanding the size of popular classes we prefer to add additional dates.

We have several employees who need SharePoint training.  Do you offer on-site training?
Yes.  Private, on-site SharePoint training is a large part of our business and one of the reasons that public classes are available every week.  In addition, we also have hybrid classes where a company with several students actually hosts the class and allows SusQtech to sell excess space to the public. If you are interested in either of these options contact us.

Will I be able to ask about specific challenges associated with my own SharePoint installation?
Because these are publicly available classes the background and experiences of the students will vary.  In order to keep the information covered applicable to the class at large, instructors will limit group discussions to topics with a broad appeal.

How do I get to the classroom?
Approximately 2-3 days prior to the first day of class, SusQtech will send out a reminder with specific directions or a link to a mapping service.  Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any transportation to training facilities.
